WGA PRESENTS: ALBERTA LITERARY AWARDS SHORTLIST AUTHOR READINGS AND CELEBRATION (CALGARY)

Each year, The Writers Guild of Alberta invites shortlisted writers to meet each other and read from their shortlisted works. This is always a great afternoon that sets the stage for our awards celebration. This year’s Alberta Literary Awards Gala will take place on Saturday, June 4 at SAIT in Calgary.

Do you want to be a writer? This class will get you on your way. Both fiction and non-fiction writers capture readers with story. This class will combine short lessons, activities, writing time, and individual coaching to help you find stories you want to tell, and put them on the page in a compelling way. We’ll explore fiction and non-fiction genres, online writing, and even take a stab at scripts and poetry. We’ll also talk about careers in writing, how to get published, writer’s groups, and educational opportunities.
